
Born in Habra Banipur, Tapas Ray entered the world of literature by writing poetry. His stories and novels gained attention. The first novel Poramatir Deul was published in the Sharod issue of Desh. And when it was published in book form by Anand Publishers, it was also recognized in the 2016 ‘Protham Alo’ award. He won the Virendra Award for Poetry in 2006.
Tapas Ray’s notable novels include: Mandasundari’s Kantha (Anand Publishers) Vandemataram (Akuhi Sathak) Shudhu Pate Lekha (Mississipir Megh), Srimati (Sananda) Putimasi’s Mishir Shishi (Grihashobha) and Red Percentage (Bharatavichitra, Dhaka).
